Challenge
A Global Leader in Market Research*asked AVC to re-design their CEO’s office and conference room.  The task was to provide a display in the CEO’s office and conference room that was large enough to meet or exceed industry standards for size vs. distance from the screen for the least favored viewer while maintaining a contrast ratio that provides sufficient color saturation and therefore an acceptable image.

Resolution
Prior to proposing a solution we did our due diligence and took measurements of ambient light in the room.  This detailed investigation allowed AVC to competently offer various solutions which included the Client's desire for "WOW" factor since this boardroom space was within his office space. The room currently held a screen that was too large and a projector that wasn't bright enough to meet the acceptable image requirements. After several options were proposed and vetted, it was decided that the system would consist of a single 103" plasma display connected to the audio-video system currently installed. While an expensive solution, this would provide the best possible picture without the need of a smaller screen and brighter, noisier projector; it would avoid the need for blackout shades and address ambient light concerns. By re-programming the control system to recognize the plasma instead of the projector and screen, AVC was able to complete the project with minimal disruption to the CEO's busy schedule.

Conclusion
AVC provided direction to the client regarding wall structure, power requirements, and reinforcement of the wall to support the mounts plus a plasma weighing 450lbs (equivalent of 600lbs). AVC and industry Best Practices dictate that the wall structure needs to support five times the expected load, requiring the wall infrastructure to support 3000lbs. The existing sources were used and the install went smoothly, expediting the expected timeline to allow minimal down time in the room.

By providing this perceptive solution, AVC has become a trusted partner in meeting the Client's current and future audiovisual and video teleconferencing needs.
